Bradley Cooper presents!!! He does it all - stars, directs, co-wrote, co-produced. He and Lady Gaga are a fabulous team for this fourth version of "A Star is Born." I thought 136 minutes in length was too much, but I was wrong. Enjoyed every minute of this version. Ally is a waitress and occasional singer. One night Jackson (Cooper) wanders in and hears her sing "La Vie en Rose." He meets her and is transfixed by this woman. He invites her to sing onstage with him and the story, inevitable, now is in control.

Loved, loved loved it. I've seen 3 of the 4 versions of this movie. Before this one, my fav was the one with Judy Garland and James Mason. This version is just as grand, if not better because it's updated to 'now-a-days'. Bradley Cooper is wonderful eye-candy, the perfect wounded bird male species. And Lady Gaga exceeded my expectations. Plus Sam Elliott rounds out the perfect cast. Highly recommend it, although be prepared cuz it's not a happy movie.

I agree with Chief Chick: a very well-crafted movie. I guess the only reason I didn’t give it five stars is that it’s been done before...three times before. But Cooper had a passion to do his version (vision) and he pulled it off very well. Do wonder if Ally (Lady Gaga) realized she was mocking portrayer in some of the “pop” scenes?

What a fabulous film! The connection and chemistry between Cooper and Gaga felt real and worked to drive the plot. And the music!! Hats off to Cooper for holding his own, musically, with a super star. I hope Lady Gaga has similar humble beginnings as Ally had...she seems spunky and real. The casting of other roles was spot on. Kudos to Cooper for his first director-ship.
