In-Yun is a Korean concept of kismet or providence or fate but only between 2 people who brush up against each other in previous lives ie Past Lives. Nora at age 12 leaves Korea with her family to move to Canada. She leaves behind her childhood sweetheart Teo Yoo. 12 years later they connect on line and 12 years after that he visits New York. This film is another excellent Korean film with excellent acting. In English and Korean with subtitles where needed. I found it quite melancholy-melancholy story, melancholy characters, melancholy music. However, the concept of In-Yun somehow makes it all right in the end. I imagine I will think about this story quite a bit. It is Oscar nominated and can now be streamed.
