Is it the best movie of the year? Joaquin Phoenix keeps winning the acting awards. This movie as uncomfortable and too violent. Subject matter of this movie overwhelmingly deals with a trip into madness for the Joker character. If you can handle that kind of subject matter and the amount of violence, seei it. Can the forgotten people of a large city riot en masse because of the actions of a crazy man? I wonder? Yes, Joaquin Phoenix is a bit quirky as a person, which probably adds to his ability to dive into such a complicated character believably. However, from a ChicksFlicks point of view, this movie is difficult to watch. I would not see it again.
