Chief Chick Comments

Fascinating movie based on a story by Agatha Christie and screenplay by Billy Wilder who also directs. Leonard Vole is accused of murdering an elderly rich widow he has befriended in order to benefit from her will. His wife is a German(Marlene Dietrich) whom he married at the end of World War II. Christine seems unconvinced that her testimony will be helpful to her husband. Meanwhile Sir Wilfrid becomes more and more interested in the case even though he is not to exert himself. Things look very bad as the trial progresses when Christine is called by the prosecution who claims she is not legally married to Leonard. Very, very good story!
