Chief Chick Comments

This is a serious movie based on a true story. Eric Lomax is a train enthusiast and knows all the lines in England by heart. One day he must change trains because of a delay and sits across from Patti. She draws him out and when he gets back to his home village tells his fellow Vets he has fallen in love. But he knows very little. Never-the-less, we presume that his knowledge of the train system brings him to the station where she embarks a few days later. They marry, but Eric still has horrible flashbacks from WW II. He was a prisoner of war, a young engineer, who was very brave but suffered immeasurably. Patti wants to help him and seeks help from the Vets he was with in the camp. Eventually, it becomes clear that he must do something about the war crimes committed when he finds out that Nagashi is still alive. I admit to a prejudice. If Colin Firth is in a movie, I know ahead of time, I am in for something special…and I was.
