"I am Moana of Motunui. You will board my boat and restore the heart of Te Fiti!" said the Polynesian princess to the demigod Maui. This is the hero's quest, though set on the Pacific Ocean rather than the ancient Mediteranean. To save her home island from the devastation of diseased crops and the absence of fish, she must leave her home and voyage beyond the reef out into the open ocean. She leaves alone, but inadvertently brings along the rooster HeiHei, apparently for comic relief. They soon find Maui, stranded on an island without his magic hook, who is reluctant to travel with her. But the ocean, the infinite all-powerful ocean has chosen Moana, and so they all travel together to overcome multiple demons and diversions, retrieve the magic hook for Maui, and restore the heart of Te Fiti. The Disney team, with guidance from John Lasseter, create a delightful, song-filled and funny story to delight the hearts of all.
