This magical movie by Woody Allen is truly wonderful. Set in the Côte d'Azur in the 1920's, Sophie is a psychic and Stanley, himself an illusionist, is called in to debunk her. Instead he comes to believe she has a gift as well as encourages her to accept the marriage proposal of the extremely wealthy young man with whose family she is staying. Stanley's Aunt Vanessa, played by Eileen Atkins, is a marvelous addition to the cast, and Emma Stone as Sophie seems perfect. Ladies, her frocks are delicious, and the ending of the movie is marvelous. Yes, I love Colin Firth even more after seeing this beautifully written, filmed, and acted movie. This was a bit of a close call but decided on Take A Date because of the humor and excellent scenery and look back at the 1920's
