Chief Chick Comments

This vaudeville-like revue set in the early talkie era stars Paul Whiteman, the most popular band leader of the 20's. We see Bing Crosby and Walter Brennan as young men in some of the sketches. Apparently, this "big budget" film (about $2,000,000) was a bust as the movie market was over saturated with musicals. It has recently been restored in color by NBC Universal. Kitchy and a few good laughs for this early film. And Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin is performed as Whiteman's Band was the first to perform the classic.
