This is the third Hunger Games movie starring Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen. Unlike the first two which covered the actual Hunger Games themselves, this third movie has less action and perhaps more strategy. We meet President Coin, played by Julianne Moore, who is President of Sector 13. As Sector 12(Katniss's sector) has been fully destroyed the handful of survivors are underground where Sector 13 now survives. Her mother and sister are there as is her boyfriend, Gale. But Peeta is being held captive in the Capitol and Katniss sees him on video explaining why it is wrong to revolt. Katniss meanwhile agrees, finally, to be Mockingjay or the symbolic leader of the rebellion. Yes there is one movie left in the series. Unfortunately, we won't see as much of Philip Seymour Hoffman who plays a prominent role in Mockingjay Part !.

I really like the Hunger Game movies -- maybe it's because I really like Jennifer Lawrence not only as an actress, but someone I'd love to have 'hang' with. Yes, these movies are kinda soap opera-ish, but that's ok. It kept my interest well enough to look forward to the next in the series. Plus, Iit looks to me like Jennifer Lawrence can really shoot a bow & arrow. She has great form! And I, too, will miss seeing Phillip Seymour Hoffman in this, and other movies.

If you're a Hunger Games fan, you'll probably like it. Rooster found it to be an average movie. Kept waiting for something substantial to happen.
