Probably entertaining in its day, but a bit trite now. This movie is a remake of a somewhat better movie Libeled Lady starring Spencer Tracy, William Powell, Jean Harlow, and Myrna Loy made in the 1930's(also reviewed on ChicksFlicks.com). Connie Allenbury, a daughter of a very rich man, sues a big city newspaper for libel. Keenan Wynn who is about to finally marry Lucille Ball is happy to skip the wedding to solve this problem for his paper. He brings in Van Johnson, a charmer who never misses with the ladies. However, his plan goes awry when the two actually seem to have some chemistry. An ok rental. Girls only, I think.
