Chief Chick Comments

This movie haunted me for several nights, but I am glad I saw it. It starts in modern day Paris when Julia, a journalist, moves into the childhood home of her father in law. Over time she realizes that it belonged to a family rounded up by the Nazis in 1942 in one of the darkest moments in French history. Of the 10,000 Jews placed in local detainment centers, over 8,000 were sent to concentration camps. Ten year old Sarah and her family were arrested, but she is able to hide her younger brother in a closet. However, she finds she will not be allowed to go home to release him from the locked closet. And she has told him to stay quiet no matter what happens. The acting is very good and the story heartbreaking. It is based on the best selling novel Sarah's Key. The French title means "Her name was Sarah"
