Chief Chick Comments

This is a comedy with some good moments. Overall, not that great by today's standards. Woodrow Lafayette Pershing Truesmith enlists in the Marines but is soon rejected because of hay fever. He is too embarassed to go home to his mother, a widow of a Congressional Medal of Honor winner from WW I and Woodrow's father. He buys a round of drinks for some broke Marines and they take him under their wing and talk him into going home. His former fiancée is now engaged to the local mayor's son, but may still love Woodrow who wrote to her to break it off, thinking he would never be able to go home. Fairly good twists and worth a rental.
