Did you read the Paula Hawkins book, The Girl on the Train? I read it two years ago and enjoyed it immensely. Even so, I did not remember enough detail to harm my enjoyment of the movie starring Emily Blunt who is fantastic as Rachel, the wife divorced so her husband, Tom, could marry Anna. Every day Rachel rides the train into and from Manhattan and begins to notice a couple seemingly very much in love in one of the houses which happens to be on the street where her ex-husband lives with his wife and baby. She becomes obsessed with their "perfect" lives and when Megan, the woman she has seen, becomes missing, Rachel remembers flashes of the night she disappeared and thinks that perhaps she was involved. This psychological thriller is fascinating as is the book.

Great character portrayal by all. Suspenseful, even after reading the book! I was surprised they set it in New York vs. England.... and gin and tonic wasn't in a can.

I do love a good suspense movie, and The Girl on the Train did not disappoint. Rachel's depression & alcoholism might have been viewed as over-the-top if it weren't for Emily Blunt's fantastic portrayal. Although too physically beautiful to have 1000% convinced me this wasn't an actress acting the part of a full blown broken alcoholic, I do believe her drunken babble and stagger were convincing enough. None of the men in the movie were worth feeling sorry for.
