Chief Chick Comments

The texture of this movie grabs you immediately. It is oddly filmed largely in an abandoned ornate theater with scenery being shown moving back and forth. The costumes are fabulous, but most wonderful is the jewelry. It is simply the best jewels I have ever seen anywhere. Keira Knightley shows off the costumes and jewels to best advantage. The tragedy proceeds, but because of the unusual sets, somehow I felt a bit less involved in the sadness of the drama (which is fine for me). A husband or date might enjoy the historic nature of the film, but, on the whole, would probably prefer another movie. Never-the-less, the story is rich and multi faceted. See it!
