Summer Vacation

Summer vacations are upon us. In keeping with that theme, the Movie of the Week is The Way Way Back. This delightful movie is funny and interesting. Young Liam James does a nice job as 14 year old, Duncan, who takes off on his bike to find the local water park, where the owner helps him find himself. Loved it!

Unfinished Song     I used up all my hankies on this one. Really lovely story of Arthur and Marion. She is dying from cancer but loves singing in her choir of pensioners in England.
Much Ado About Nothing     An excellent version of this famous play.
The Internship     Bill and Nick lose their sales jobs, at which they excel, when their business fails because of the digital revolution. They seek and remarkably get a summer internship at Google!
The Lone Ranger     Retelling of the legend of the Lone Ranger set in 1869 when John Reid and his brother are ambushed by Butch Cavendish and his gang, all set during the building of the Intercontinental Railroad. Hammer and especially Depp are a hoot.
The Heat     Grungy Boston street copy (Melissa McCarthy) teams up with up-tight FBI agent (Sandra Bullock). And prove to be formidable! Loved it. Lots of laughs.
The Bling Ring     Based on a true story of teenage Hollywood Hills robbers of stars' homes. Fairly juvenile.
I'm So Excited     Peninsula Airlines has a problem with a plane flying from Spain to Mexico. And the First Class Passengers and the Gay Flight Attendants go a little nuts.
Grown Ups 2     Lenny moves back to his home town and his crazy friends. Are they still children or adults?
The Hangover Part III     Third movie in this series as the Vegas Mob demands return of their dough, or else!
