Chief Chick Comments

This is a fabulous movie which opened during World War II but covered the time period before and during World War I when George M Cohan and his family were headliners on the Vaudeville stage. Jimmy Cagney won the Academy Award for best Actor. His sister, Jeanne, plays Cohan's sister in the movie. Many, many famous songs written by Cohan and performed in the movie including: Over There, Yankee Doodle Dandy, Give My Regards to Broadway, Harrigan, You're A Grand Old Flag, Mary. Surprisingly, Cagney is a marvelous dancer and singer(well more like talking but effective) in the movie nominated for Best Picture.

A classic, get-up-&-dance movie! Dated, of course it is, but Cagney makes it all work.
