Chief Chick Comments

Set in Suburban Connecticut in the mid 1950's, April and Frank are just not happy. She is a failed actress and he hates his job writing brochures at a computer company where his father worked before him. After one of their many fights, April proposed they move to Paris. She has never been but during the War, Frank visited and loved it. In theory, she would work for an international agency in a secretarial capacity while Frank "found himself". Sounds ideal? However, their neighbors, his coworkers, even their kids hate the idea at first. They only person who likes it is the institutional son of their realtor(Kathy Bates) who thinks it is a great idea. Like an accident in slow motion, we see their dream fall apart. Good acting. Winslet won a Golden Globe.
