Chief Chick Comments

Close call on Take a Date, but the historical nature of events may be of interest to the man in your life. This second season of Downton Abbey is fascinating and much occurs. Downton Abbey itself is turned into a convalescent hospital for wounded soldiers. Lady Mary is still in love with Matthew although they seem doomed especially after he announces his engagement to Miss Lavinia Swire. Mary somewhat in response invites Sir Richard Carlisle to Downton Abbey and eventually becomes engaged to this somewhat dislikable newspaper baron. In the meantime Matthew and William are injured and are returned home both in serious condition, especially William who probably saved Matthew's life. Maggie Smith as the Dowager Countess is as entertaining as ever and romance blooms downstairs where Bates and Anna are to marry. Unfortunately, Bates' first wife Vera is found dead and Bates is the chief suspect. Lots of ups and downs. See it!
