Chief Chick Comments

Have you ever been to Singapore? Well the Chief Chick has (some time ago) and this movie shows many spectacular views. Did you know most Singapore residents speak English as well as one of three official languages? Neither did I. This funny movie takes place mostly on the Island of Singapore. It is not as goofy as the trailer suggests. It is a romance similar to some you may have seen before, but is well done, funny and enjoyable.

I saw this movie thinking I'd be busting a gut with laughter. It was delightful enough, but I didn't bust a gut -- although I did chuckle a few times. My favorite character is the platinum blond girlfriend. Loved her and her whole family. Although worth seeing, the trailer makes it sound like it's the movie of the year (which I don't believe it is).

I loved the music track! The Singapore sights were beautiful and a place I want to visit! The young lovebirds were very believable and adorable together. Ackwafina who is a comedian in her other life, played the best friend and was hysterical. The mahjong scene at the end of the movie was well done and pulled many things together. This. Movie fun. I.

I loved this movie. It should have gotten 5 stars. It is a classic romantic comedy/Cinderella story. There is even a patch of dialog that is almost straight out of the Opera Traviata (although Traviata has an unhappy ending). The acting and the setting are incredible. I don’t understand how Wilma gave it 3 stars on fashion. As we left the theatre, my wife said it made her want to go right out and buy an expensive outfit. If there was a category for food, it would definitely get 5 stars. At the end of the movie I was dying to have some Chinese food. But the main thing about the movie is that it was fun, funny, and romantic.
