This movie is why I love Cary Grant. For much of my life, I would tell people it was my favorite movie. It is true that Cary Grant is my all time favorite actor. Deborah Kerr is beautiful and extremely well dressed, but I never felt she was beautiful enough for Grant. Grant does a marvelous job playing a Playboy currently engaged to a very wealthy heiress. If you were alive in the 50's you might remember the shows which went into the living rooms of famous people. That part is a real flashback. Any woman whose heart is not in her throat at the end of this movie, needs to let me know. Most of us have the final words from Kerr burned into our minds. Beautiful scenery, shipboard scenes compelling, New York lovely. Tangled but lovely story and lovely singing by Kerr. Every woman needs to see this classic! A little known fact is that Kathleen Nesbitt who plays Grant's grandmother is actually about his age at the time of filming. Nesbitt was a great player of older women even when she was not one!
