Not the best of the Tracy Hepburn comedies-yet good never-the-less. Pat arrives in Washington DC looking for a place to conduct his experiments to help the War Effort. Conveniently, Jamie has a house which she rarely uses. Soon she proposes marriages as a way to protect them both from "love" and to form a partnership in science. So much for that idea! Of course, there are competing loves. In addition Lucille Ball has an "on again off again" romance with Keenan Wynn.
