Chief Chick Comments

Through a series of deaths, Peter becomes the senior male in this tale of Spider-Man. Along the way, he falls for Gwen, daughter of a police Captain in New York City. Gwen, played by Emma Stone, feels herself drawn to Peter but even more so once she realizes he is Spider-Man. Peter, while still a teenager emotionally tries to do good but also wants a bit of revenge. His Uncle played by Martin Sheen helps send him on the right path. Sally Fields, his Aunt, is puzzled by Peter's bruises and injuries, but I think by the end of this first in the Spider-Man series, she figures it out. Dr Curt Connors, Peter's father's partner, now runs a large medical company but seems completely focused on cross species genetics in hopes he can regenerate his lost right arm. Eventually, he tries an unproven remedy with help from Peter and the unthinkable occurs in the form of a Lizard Man. I think this movie is appealing to our younger members; not so much our older members…although the romance between Peter and Gwen is certainly a draw.
