Chief Chick Comments

This classic has biting humor, adventure, and ultimately romance. It is one of the movies for which I most remember Humphrey Bogart as well as Katharine Hepburn. Hepburn is Rose, a missionary who must leave this part of Africa. Bogart is Charlie Allnut who pilots a river boat during World War II. You may cringe at the leeches and perhaps feel very warm because of the heat in Africa, but you will feel the coolness of the lake once it is reached. Only such a difficult journey could have forged a relationship between these two. The end is touching as well as surprising.
