Chief Chick Comments

Previous movies and documentaries as well as periodicals have all told the story of Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple who was a personally flawed genius. This movie tells the story by focusing on the launch of some of his computers and highlights his personal and professional situation and demeanor via interactions minutes before the launch. Fassbender is fantastic, hence his Oscar nod, as is Kate Winslet, also an Oscar nod, who plays his head of marketing and seemingly the only person who can stand up to him consistently. We see his denial and acceptance of his daughter, Lisa, who is being raised, it appears, by an unstable woman who uses the child to pry money out of Jobs. We see nothing of his other family but through some flashbacks and dialogue, we see history being made. I was riveted by the movie and, for a while, forgot it was a movie even though Fassbender was not made to look identical to Jobs. I think you will enjoy it!
