Chief Chick Comments

James Bond 007…Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craig. Now substitute Melissa McCarthy and you have SPY. This movie is made to look just like a genuine spy thriller, except, of course, Melissa McCarthy(a very funny woman) is our hero. Ignoring the plethora of X rated words, there are about 20-25 "laugh out loud" moments in the film. McCarthy plays Susan Connor who after training to be an CIA agent ends up assigned to Agent Fine as his controller back at HQ in the basement which fittingly is infested with vermin of various types. When Fine is killed, Connor volunteers to go undercover since all of the field trained agents are known to the target who is attempting to sell a nuclear bomb to radical groups in the Middle East. Susan is given hideously stupid cover like single mother of 4 and cat lady who owns multiple kitties. Allison Janney, second in command at the CIA, gives her a chance after seeing Connor's performance in a 10 year old training tape. As we travel around Europe, Paris, Rome, Budapest, we must remember James Bond but we see…..Agent Susan Cooper. Loved it!
