Chief Chick Comments

The film adaptation of the John Le Carré novel is bit slow and too long. It should be compelling but is not. Klaus Maria Brandauer plays a Russian scientist who meets Barley, a British book publisher, and decides he might be trusted. Kayta, Michelle Pfeiffer, plays a friend who approaches Barley to test him out. British and US Intelligence get involved and more or less mess things up. Meanwhile, what a surprise, Barley and Katya fall for each other. But is there a way out of this Cold War mess?
