Close call on whether or not to "take a date". Some men will hate it. Others will find the story engaging. Will Trainer played by Sam Claflin is a London based investment banker who becomes a paraplegic after being hit by a motorcycle. After two years, his mother hires a local girl from the countryside where the family lives to becomes his companion and helper...hoping she can cheer him up. Louisa played by Emilia Clarke is very "up" and very chatty. Eventually she wins him over, but she discovers that he plans to kill himself after a promised 6 months which he gave to his wealthy parents. In the movie the Trainer's have the money to make his life as bearable as possible which, of course, is not the case for the vast majority of victims of this kind of injury, yet he still finds it intolerable. Critics have dissed the ending, but, of course, it represents something possible. I enjoyed the movie but have your hankie ready. Emilia Clarke is stunning in her nutty, colorful clothes and Sam Claflin is a real hunk !
