Lady Susan played by Kate Beckinsale has a moral code which suits her. Anything goes as long as it forwards her own agenda. She is known as one of the most charming flirts in English society. Having lost her own husband and his money through spending and neglect, she is ousted from the home of one of her married lovers and ends up on the doorstep of her brother in law and his wife(who despises her since Susan tried to stop the marriage). Reginald Decourcy is the brother of her sister in law and quite a catch. Susan sets her hat for him when her daughter, Frederica arrives from school. Chloe Sevigny plays Susan's only friend whose husband forbids her to associate with Susan. This story was begun by Jane Austen and is finished for this movie. Entertaining.

Very enjoyable movie, great costumes and sets and all-around lots of fun. Occasionally had trouble understanding them because of the British accents, but once again Jane Austen's humor also has some moral lessons.
