This movie is way too long, but I must say it went by faster than I anticipated. The story is complicated. If you have an advanced degree in physics, maybe you will understand the theory of what is going on. I just decided to take it as it came. A guy sitting next to me was unable to suspend disbelief and enjoyed the movie less than I did. Matthew McConaughey is a farmer on Earth who was trained as an astronaut, but as the environment becomes worse and worse, almost everyone becomes a farmer for the world to survive. He is a widower with two children and lives also with his father in law played by John Lithgow. His daughter, Murphy, called Murph is 10 years old and begins to notice strange goings on in her room and suspects a poltergeist. Later we find out what it really is. One day she and her father interpret a message as map coordinates which leads them to a secret NASA base led by a scientist Coop used to know. Coop is convinced to lead a mission through a wormhole hear Saturn to visit 2-3 worlds which were discovered by astronauts 10 years before and to start a colony with fertilized eggs. His daughter cannot be reconciled to his leaving them probably forever. The major part of the movie involves Coop and 3 others including Anne Hathaway going through the wormhole to find the surviving astronauts and planets. The movie is more emotional that I expected. I think this movie by Christopher Nolan will be more appreciated in future years.

This movie echoes Nolan's style he established in "Inception". Brain twister dealing with astro physics and the space time continuum. Rooster, being a fan of physics, found several discrepancies in how the movie explains things in order to make the plot work. For example, how can the main character watch videos of his daughter some 20 years in the future if the video can only get to him at the speed of light? Visually stunning and stimulates conversation with other physics junkies, but too complicated to the neophyte and much too long.
