Chief Chick Comments
Well, a theater of young men loved this movie. I did not. The first half was interesting with a good back story; however, the second half was violent, loud, bloody, and fast. Luckily, I had my earplugs with me (which is also a hint to a theme of the movie). Kevin Spacey is the mastermind of an ever changing group of thugs who usually rob banks. Ansel Elgort who plays Baby is an unbelievable get away driver who is paying Doc back for stealing his car some time ago. Jon Hamm and girlfriend appear a couple of times as gun toting robbers along with others including Jamie Foxx. Baby frequents a diner at which his Mother once worked. He meets and becomes interested in Debora played by Lily James(who played Lady Rose on Downton Abbey). Elgort, you may remember from The Fault in Our Stars. All in all, good movie to take your guy but be prepared for the last half of the movie. The chase scenes are quite good…even though you think that can never do anything new in chase scenes.
