Chief Chick Comments
It is hard to imagine the love of a spouse who cares for a failing partner. Yet this story is believable if sad. It was nominated for an Academy Award and Emmanuelle Riva was nominated as Best Actress for her portrayal of Anne. Isabelle Huppert plays their daughter, Eva. French with subtitles. Having spent many weeks in Paris over the years, the apartment and neighborhood are definitely authentic. The screenplay riveting as well as the acting.
