Chief Chick Comments

Sad, poignant story of Badreya, an Egyptian Muslim who is trying to realize the American dream and is in discussions with Sam, a Jew played by Tony Shalhoub, about opening a Middle Eastern Restaurant. The paranoia of 9-11 is evident in how the world treats him, his family, and friends. The movie demonstrates the overreaction of authorities and others towards hardworking Muslim people. I found it very sad. There is a glimmer of hope at the end which is almost jarring since we have just seen the death of one of the main characters. Never-the-less, it is very worth seeing and contemplating this story. You may recognize Sarah Shahi from Person of Interest. She plays Badreya's sister.
